Decided to do the 5 Beaches drive today, this was out at Somerset Beach (to the right of ‘the Tip’). The trip went across Nanthau Beach to Freshwater Bay and then the Fly Point. It was a wonderful day for travelling and we really enjoyed it. Even when Mike and Jan got bogged in the sand and had to get Col to help them out. Had lunch at Somerset Beach – what a piece of paradise and then returned to Punsand Bay via the back road. We had done this before but from the other direction, it was such a change and really bumpy. At one stage there was an announcement over the CB ‘This is your captain speaking please prepare for takeoff’ – very shortly after we were advised that we were experiencing some turbulence and requesting everyone to remain seated . We all really felt that we had changed roads completely. Back for a well deserved drink and a spot of fishing. The first fish of the trip was caught by Sal (although we couldn't eat it as it was a blowfish), dinner was fish and chips at the resort – yum.
