Jude arrived early this morning to join us on this leg of the tour. Left Cairns at about 9.30, now we are on our way up to ‘the tip’. As we left Mt Carbine we came across the Postie Bike challenge- this is where people pay a certain amount to have the privilege to ride original Postie Bikes for Charity. This time it was Brisbane to Cairns via the Gulf. We caught up with them between Mt Carbine and Lakeland. Very slow, but we managed to pass them. After Lakeland it was on to gravel roads, Colin managed to lose his CB aerial. Luckily Mike had a spare aerial to give him (it was very small and very gay though!!). Stayed overnight at Han River Roadhouse -lovely spot (except for the generator that ran all night). Met up with a self drive tour group who provided some good advice and leftover dessert.
